Anti-submarine warfare exercises are being carried out in the Mediterranean by the crew of the Russian destroyer "Vice-Admiral Kulakov", the Northern Fleet Press Service announced on Friday.
As reported by the Russian news agency TASS, a KA-27PL anti-submarine helicopter also participated in the exercise.
"The helicopter crew made several excursions from the deck of the destroyer to search for submarines in the designated area. During the flight, the pilots practiced searching for an underwater target through a submerged water station," the Press Service said.
The destroyer "Vice-Admiral Kulakov" has been in the Mediterranean since the beginning of August. The ship has docked in Algeria and Cyprus and has also conducted several naval exercises. So far, the ship has traveled over 15,000 nautical miles.
