Photographs of tourists packed into the arrivals hall, where they could wait two hours to get through passport control, have gone viral on social media in the last few weeks.
This week however, new software on the computers used by staff and extra officers brought in from Larnaca airport meant the facility was able to process all passengers in a more reasonable time.
Tourists spoken to by the Sunday Mail said their experience was favourable compared to what had been happening in the recent past.
