EPRD's Gymnastics Level 8 gymnasts competed against the top gymnasts in the region last weekend. Our region is comprised of 7 states, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Wyoming.
All 5 members of Evergreen's Level 8 team were able to qualify to this event with their stellar performances at the state championships in Colorado Springs, March 24th.
The Regional competition took place in Lake Dallas, Texas. Not only did ALL the girls qualify but they also had many top finishes.
Rachel Solawetz finished 6th on the Vault with a 9.3, 9th on Beam (9.175), 2nd on Floor with a 9.3 and 9th in the All Around.
Julia Silegel tied for 2nd on the Floor Exercise with teammate Solawetz.
Abi Somers finished 3rd on the Uneven Bars with a 9.3.
Tessarose Guernsey, in her final meet of her senior season, nailed her Beam and Floor Routine to earn a 9.425 on both events and place 2nd and 3rd respectively.
"The girls have worked so hard this year and really had a fantastic season. This regional meet was most of the girls' top performances of the year. They really peaked at a great time and represented Evergreen and Colorado well," said coaches Molly Weber and Katie Albe.
