Please note that there will be a presentation by the Cypriot Police at Tala Church Hall on Thursday 14 April 2016 at 5pm [followed by a repeat of the presentation at 6pm in Greek] regarding Community Watch, which is effectively a modern version of Neighbourhood Watch.

The program is a crime prevention strategy to help protect the public from the activities of criminal elements, with a view to significantly reducing theft, burglary of property, trafficking in illegal substances etc.

The new programme will work with the Police informing residents of incidents in the area, and suspicious behaviour or vehicles by means of an SMS from Tala Council office [plus emails from those who have a database in the community] and with members of the community feeding information back to the Police and dropping myself or your local database holder, eg KVHA or Stephanie Association, a note of that feedback so this information too can be circulated around the community.
