Nutrition Goals for September! This is the Final Chapter! If you missed it, start with July and finish up with September!

Have you been following these nutrition goals?  July's goals laid the foundation, August introduced new goals and this month's activities will hone it in!  

Week 1 – Eat Clean!
This means eating more whole real food.  Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, low fat dairy, nuts and seeds.  Limit processed and refined carbohydrates.

Week 2 – Look for and Cut back on Added sugar!
This means you need to read labels and educate yourself
on all the names for sugar in processed and
prepared foods.  Check out the Allyfitness blog for more
Information on this. 

Week 3 – Revisit your food Journal!
How are you doing?  What can be improved?  Are you getting protein at each meal?  Are you getting enough green food?  Are you limiting the processed and refined carbs?  Can you crank it up a notch?  Identify areas where you can improve especially in the processed and refined carb area.

Week 4 – Shake the salt habit!

Are you relying on frozen meals for portion control or canned vegetables to get the 5 / day?  If so, you are more than likely getting too much salt.  Try to minimize frozen foods as well as incorporating fresh or frozen vegetables into your diet vs the canned goods.
