Time-Tested Fat Burning Workouts

Before you start working out with fat-burning exercises, you should learn a little bit about weight loss and how it works. Knowledge of what fat is made of and how your body burns it is important so you can choose the right weight loss exercise plan.

Each fat cell is made up in part of triglycerides, which is oil that gives your body fuel reserves. If you eat more calories than you burn, then your body will store more and more triglycerides in your fat cells. This is the fat you burn when you lose weight.

Along with dieting, exercise triggers hormones that in turn releases the triglycerides stored in your fat cells. The liver processes them and this is what gives you energy when you exercise.

Resistance Training

When you do resistance exercises, what you are doing is contracting the muscles in a specific area of the body. If done right, resistance training should not do any damage to the muscles that you are working with. Try using light weights when you do your cardio workout or you can just add light weights to the toning part of your program.

I know this all sounds so simple, but sometimes simple is better. Our parents stayed in shape using basic cardio, toning and resistance exercises because they didn't have the fancy equipment and gyms that we have today. Why put yourself through more than you really have to.
